Re: The fake SWAT team, it sounds alarming but no people or pets died and they left without slapping spurious ‘resisting arrest’ charges or claiming she was a drug pusher.

It sounds like a much milder version of the real thing.

Interesting how the DoD documents which the ACLU cites as evidence of the current administration “turning a blind eye” to the treatment of Iraqi prisoners. If there was truly a blind eye, wouldn’t there have been no documents at all?

I was really hoping the police chief’s name was Harris Smith.

      jwh,

It’s just a phrase meaning “not take seriously”. It doesn’t mean they literally couldn’t see.

How can there be no record of the police chief being shot at the hospital?
You go to the hospital with a gun shot wound, and there will be records, arrests, 30 hours of sleep deprived interrogation, and a mug shot for the newspaper.

It seems the home invading criminals without (real) badges are more civil and less apt to kill than those with real badges.

What a sad commentary on American society that this is acceptable to most.

sucker girl obviously had a few brothers for her to be that twisted…

we used to send out fake notices (to people who pissed us off) from the local std clinic that they’ve been exposed. for a crime like this, I’d be thinking of more than just std notices!

Had the “Sucker” video remained with the water it would have been funny. But the punch to the groin made it unfunny.

Yeah, nothing like an unprovoked assault to get the hee hees going.

Reverse the genders and he’s still sitting in a cell. And deservedly so. She should be too.

#8 You haven’t figured out by now that a badge is a de facto patent of nobility? The rules are different when cops are involved.

I guess that was too subtle.

Doesn’t surprise me in the least that the VA cops are charging a guy with public intox after dragging him out of his house. Almost had the same thing happen in WV Martinsburg. Cop asked my husband to step out side and then threatened to charge him with public intoxication. Then my husband informed him that it would be illegal since he was following orders given by the cop and quickly started asking to see this idiots superiors, going up the chain of command. I hope this guy wins his lawsuit. After being dragged out of my house without a warrant and then charged I’d be pretty pissed to.

The intoxication charge is just a tiny, tiny symptom of a self-created problem for the police. One reads of coppers whining endlessly about how much harder it is to get convictions now, how so much more preparation is required, blah blah blah, but the cognitive dissonance sets in: none of them consider that they have to work so much harder to convince judges now because they have spent ages undermining their own credibility then expecting a cookie for it.
