Running as Fast as He Can

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Congratulations to Larry Knapp, the Agitatrix’s dad.

He fisnished an ironman triathlon last night in Arizona–a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike, capped off with a marathon.

I’m exhausted just typing that.

First, congrats! That’s a huge amount of dedication and hard work.

It’s interesting that even during an “obesity epidemic”, events like Ironman, marathons, bicycle tours, etc. are becoming increasingly popular. It’s just another manifestation of the growing inequality of our society. We need a government program to spread the fitness around!

I’m just a couple of miles from Tempe Town Lake where the swimming portion started. Luckily the weather has been nice–not too hot and not too cold.
