FYI the ‘crane jumping’ is fake. Even if a lever material were chosen that wouldn’t break (it would have to be very springy), the acceleration of the man would instantly pulverize his lower body up to the waist into an unpleasant mushy substance, and very little of the energy would be converted into vertical velocity of the man. Even if the man were made of an extremely strong material, the acceleration over a distance of the approximately 2 feet I see (probably less) that apparently raises the man about 100 feet (that’s also a conservative estimate from what I see) would be on the order of 200 gravities. You don’t want to experience 15 gravities, let alone 200 gravities.
The Cuban case looks kie the one against Martha Steward.She was never found guilty of S.E.C. violations but didn’t keep her mouth shut.I’m not sure that will work against CubanI’m not into conspiricies but it’s funny haw this pops up while MLB owners try to stop him from buying the Cubs.
It’s not an indictment of eye-witness testimony, it’s an indictment of our implementation of eye-witness testimony procedures. The Old Testament legal code had a very good way of dealing with this that broke down into a two part protection for the accused for **any** crime:
1) Two witnesses, not one.
2) Any witness who knowingly bears false testimony is declared guilty of the crime for which the defendant is accused, and punished for it with the full severity accorded by the law.
These are the protections that we need in our modern legal system. One person’s testimony should probably never be enough to send someone to prison.

After reading the story about the kid who got arrested for farting, I want to pull a George Carlin and just resign from the human race.
This is what I think they should do to the crooked cop. Add all the prison time that his arrests caused people to endure. If that means 4000 years, so be it. Give him that many years in prison. He should be in prison until he dies.
The Crane jumping has to bee fake. There is no way anyone could withstand that much acceleration.
And yes, this is an indictment on eye witness testimony. I hope he make a bucket load of many. Can there be any other conclusion that the criminal justice system is a complete joke?
Arresting the boy was ridiculous, but he was being a jackass, not just passing gas. A trip to the principal’s office and some detention should have been the action, unless he was on double-secret probation….
#2: Because Mark Cuban can always be expected to keep his mouth shut.
2 people can agree to tell the same lie, so can 3, so can 4, etc. People also get wrapped up into a lie simply due to blood lust, it’s a weird crowd mentality. The only proper solution is that there must be physical evidence. Anyone can say anything and get others to agree to say the same thing, but this doesn’t make it true.
You: “I have no idea what this is all about, I’m innocent.”
5 people: “He did it! Throw him in jail!”
Judge: “Verdict: you are guilty, jail for you.”
That doesn’t sound like justice, does it?
The officer said he would plant drugs on people when searches turned up nothing because they “needed to arrest someone to satisfy their bosses”. Sounds like Mafia to me.
I wonder if the cop ever asked for protection money.
Of all the things Cuban does, it seems like tracking the bailout is the thing pissing off the very-well connected.
Sorry, MLB doesn’t have the connections to sick the SEC on him. But when you start to challenge Washington, you better hire additional security.
