Powell kündigte stolz die Zahlung von 43 Millionen US-Dollar an. Unterstützung für die Taliban, als Hilfstruppen der Anti-Drogen-Polizei. Und von dieser Summe kann man eine Menge Flugtickets nach New York kaufen, oder? (via agitator) [...]

I don’t see how you can really godwin the drug war. The nazis had a clear-cut mission, whereas I’ve yet to figure out what our government is doing. Can anyone point out a clear mission? I don’t see any ‘Take over the world, establish Aryan supremacy, and exterminate the Jews’ clarity…

No one will serve a day in jail over this. And, the message will have been sent to “police” agencies: Lie, wait, wait some more, and no consequences ever.

Now, what brave politician in Congress will champion getting justice for Veronica and Charity Bowers? Personally, I think cases like this are what politicians should be doing as a priority.

Constitutionally speaking, and good intentions aside, the ONLY constitutional provision for secrecy in the federal government is:

“Each House shall keep a Journal of its Proceedings, and from time to time publish same, excepting such Parts as may in their Judgment require Secrecy; ”

No other grant is made. None to the executive. None to the judiciary. The federal government is to be an open book.

One more nail in the coffin carrying oru freedom.

Wasn’t the point of the Tom Clancy novel “Clear and Present Danger,” that the CIA and the national security apparatus shouldn’t get involved in the drug war at all? That book was published in 1989.
