Monday, November 10th, 2008John Holowach, creator of the documentary High, has put my post on successful marijuana users to video.
At 285 comments and counting, I do believe that’s the longest thread to a post we’ve ever had at this site. Keep adding, though. I’d like to see that post keep growing as more people find it on search engines and add themselves to the list.
Branson is the best argument there of all of them.
I think all the pols make the best argument if for no other reason than that it shows the rank hypocrisy of our drug policies. Also, it shows that had any of those folks been unlucky enough to get caught, it almost surely would have derailed their public service careers.
Is Mark Cuban on the list already? Have we done a thorough examination of the music world?
To expand on Nick’s point, I think musicians and actors are not good examples. Drug use has never been a hindrance in the entertainment industry and has been well excepted for…I don’t know…ever.
Scientists, politicians, and successful business people make the best examples of why drug use is not a determining factor in your ability to achieve.
I knew i should have written myself in. I always miss out when it comes to getting in on ground floor opportunities.

Great work Radley, and I wish you continued success on this! These are the kinds of projects that can change the tone of the debate and open people’s eyes. Throw the ineptitude of the system right in the faces of the powerful and use YouTube so the ideas go viral. Excellent! During the election, results were mixed for social liberals (The Prop. 8 vote was certainly demoralizing). But, Massachusetts decriminalized personal possession of up to an ounce of Cannabis and Michigan is going to allow medical use of Marijuana. Baby steps, to be sure, but the tide just might be turning.

Sarah Palin was on the list. However, yeah, I’m sure there are a few more. It’s interesting that Carl Sagan is in the video but not Ann Druyan, for example.
