Its time to get vocal,the drug war costs 250 billion a year,local ,county,state and federal law enforcement,courts,judges and prisons………if people want to do drugs let them and tax them so that the other 90% that do not do drugs can get some tax relief!

Yes, it is ideal that government has nothing to do with marriage at all. But as long as they *do*, and as long as marriage offers benefits and access to some things (contracts, etc) that non married people do not have the same access to, it is important that it is available to everyone, not just the ones that the majority agrees with.

Chris at #26. I agree with you completely. My three favorite political radio hosts are Rush, Boortz, and Sharpton. Only one of those do I agree with often, but they’re all badasses.

I was mocking Omar, apparently poorly, for this ditto-head or nothing schtick. Re-read his two comments. They’re really kinda creepy. It sounds like his parents called Rick Ross to deprogram him and now he’s so sensitive that he can’t listen to any charismatic person with an opinion.

Ok, I get it I’m an asshole. True, I am.

I’m also an anarchist which means I get to play by whatever rules I want. (Conservative? ). As long as I don’t hurt anyone or their property, I’m good.

And no, no couples were “hurt” by the passage of 8 they are still in the same relationships as they were before the election.

The key, which all of you missed, is that there is no place at all for the gov men to be granting sanction to marriages. This is one of the most important and personal and intimate things an individual can get involved in and we need permission from the state? I don’t think so.

So if you were waiting around for that that is your problem, not mine.

If I found a lever that instantly and gently closed all public schools in the state and would cost the the left millions to undo, I would work it so fast all you would see is a blur, and I would do this knowing full well that there are plenty of good folk, people that I agree with on a large set of issues that would be inconvenienced by it.

Though I would wait for the weekend or at least after schools had closed for the day.

The same thing would happen with the “pay taxes” lever, the “drug war lever” the “drivers license lever” the “swat team lever” the “post office” lever, “the foreign wars lever” and so on.

And I’m sure people would bitch and moan about those as well. Unless I pushed the lever all the way over to “full tax refund”.

I was under the impression that Hitler was on the far right. National Socialism does not equal EU socialism. I was also under the impression that the remaining men weren’t just “leftist,” but were about as far to the left as one can go. I was also under the impression that all of the above persecuted gays. That 100+ million figure in your above quote included quite a few queers. Voting in line with the beliefs of your supposed enemies is not a repudiation of them.

If decisions are the product of my mind, and my mind is the product of my brain, and my brain is owned by a “higher power,” how exactly are my decisions my own? Is the brain not a part of the body in your belief system? Or do you feel the mind is separate from the brain? If the mind is not part of the brain, how do you explain schizophrenia, or the changes in personality and thought processes that can come with brain damage or illnesses of the brain? Why is my mind affected when God’s brain is influenced by chemicals such as alcohol or THC? If we do not own our brains, I don’t see how we own our decisions. If a higher power owns our decisions, how is anything we do either good or bad?

While the “ick” factor with homosexuality is real (a natural instinct–just like the “ick” factor with cannibalism), many people don’t believe the government should be promoting a basically immoral behavior (really, govt shouldn’t be regulating lifestyles at all–much less promoting them).

Yeah, that’s why cannabilism, like homosexuality, continues to be an important part of cultures all around the world.

I would argue that listening to Limbaugh and believing in conservative ideology is not “cultish”, Alex. Limbaugh is an entertainer who provides a useful service – exposing the overreaches of liberal media organs and giving conservatives a place to gather where they are not mocked as being troglodytes.

I do agree with Alex on one point – why should your behavior be cultish in regards to whomever you listen to? Opinions are like a-holes and all that. That’s what great about the blogosphere…you can see the range of opinions on an issue in about five minutes. Then you can decide whom to believe.
