Hey Radley, if Michael Chaney doesn’t stop posting his lies here, I’ll likely stop posting here. Reread his whole paragraph and count the number of lies- “Arafat’s spokesman” was a guy who McCain supported and was brought in as a neutral broker for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. Ayers has expanded on what he meant by “didn’t do enough” (hint: he says it doesn’t have to do with more bombs but MC likely won’t take his word for it, although it seems to be good enough when it fits in with his prejudices).

Look, Bill Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist. He’s a real terrorist. They bombed things, tried to kill people (one bomb that was stopped was going to spray roofing nails into a restaurant at lunch time), and as late as 2001 he claimed that they hadn’t done enough.

Obama has continued to just happen to be at the same place as this guy. Polite company doesn’t show up at the same place as Ayers, and if something like Ayers crawls in while you’re at a party, you inform the host that one of you is leaving. Then do it. You also don’t have your political career launched at his house. Ayers is simply not the kind of person that a gentleman associates with at *any* level.

This is, ultimately, the issue with Jeremiah Wright. You don’t sit through the sermon when he starts screeching about whitey and all the evils that whitey’s doing to him (while he lives in a 10,000 sq ft mansion). You get up and leave, and don’t go back. I’ve been in churches like that on the right-wing side and that’s what we did.

He will be in the unique and solitary position of receiving Top Secret military and economic intelligence when he himself could NEVER pass a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Never.

He’s an Establishmentarian, not an outsider, and expecting him to forfeit such a useful tool of governmental oppression is unrealistic…no matter how much it hurts his fellow African-Americans, millions of whom will not be able to vote for him, thanks to voter disenfranchisement courtesy of drug law offenses. Which led in no small part to the last 8 years and all that that entails.

Good question Les. From what I can tell, Obama’s association with Ayers is continuing only in the minds of rabid right-wingers. Ayers was on a board of some kind with Obama and lives in his neighborhood. I don’t think that makes Obama a Leninist. But, these are the same people who can’t tell a Stalinist (which Obama is not) from a reasonably moderate Left-Progressive w/ social democratic leanings (a more accurate portrayal of Obama’s leanings). But, as we have seen during campaign 2008, when you intentionally confuse different ideologies, you can scare people into supporting poor policies. Just ask Naomi Klein.

How is Obama’s association with Ayers “continuing?” When was the last time Obama “associated” with Ayers?

The Democrats have floated the ideo of applying the fairness doctrine to the internet,

they’ve threatened in Congressional hearings to NATIONALIZE the oil industry.

We’re going to get NATIONAL health care.

We’ll get an assault weapons ban.

Obama will sign all of them.

Yeah, the catch is that as a liberal, there’s no such thing as a government program that “doesn’t work”, there’s only programs that need more funding, and programs that need further regulation, or both.

Why, again, are people acting like this guy is hated only by “the right”? Any freedom-loving person should hate everything that man stands for, and people here, of all places, should really be wondering about Obama’s continuing association with this man.

Hey, I just saw Obama on one of his ads last night here in NC. He promised to “shut down government programs that don’t work”, so the war on drugs should be the first one on his list then, right?

Of course, is that the same Bratton that is the chief of police here in LA? Boy wont the rest of the country be lucky. He’s done some much for gang violence here in LA…or not.
