Lets remember that when evaluating the testimony, we are listening with adult ears to a child’s statement. We are bringing adult experiences and exposures to something a child states who doesnt’ have the same point of reference as adults do.

I am glad tyler Edmond was not charged for murder a child can be helped if given the chance. I hope and pray he does get help for what he did go through instead of keeping it built up inside it will only make things worse in the years to come if don’t work through all the pain. good luck. kat

Hayne improbably testified that the bullet wounds in the victim’s body suggested there were two hands on the gun that fired that bullet, consistent with District Attorney Forrest Allgood’s theory that Edmonds and his sister fired the gun simultaneously. It was the first time the state’s supreme court had ever thrown out Hayne’s testimony in a criminal case.

Yeah, I recall that was the thing that Patterico had a hard time with. However, in reading the testimony there were clearly two hypotheses:

H1: One shooter, one pair of hands, one gun.
H2: Two shooters, two pairs of hands, one gun.

And only one bullet was fired.

Hayne’s testimony was basically along the lines of, “The physical evidence is consistent with both H1 and H2, but that he favored H2. Further, that part of the reason he favored H2 was the physical evidence.”

That is it wasn’t just a video-taped confession later recanted, but also forensic evidence suggesting that there were two hands aiming the gun absent the video-taped confession. Of course, that is rather hard to believe that the physical evidence tells us how many hands were on the weapon at the time of firing.

There were so many people involved working to make this day happen for Tyler and had it not been for many, many others and Balko’s story on Hayne this day may have never come.

Guess Hayne is having to SUE the INNOCENCE PROJECT so that he can start paying Brewer, now Edmonds…and shortly it will be Havard, Bennett, Moses…

Well gee guys, he’s got to get the dough from somewhere! LOL

He must have gone through the MASS FORTUNE he acquired doing 1800 autopsies a year at $550.00 a pop.
