When economic times are good, it’s easy to increase government as there’s plenty of wealth to spread. When economic times are bad, it’s easy to increase government as a solution for the tough times. Big government “wins” every time and the American people deserve what they get. Yes, I’m a pessimist, but I’m really thinking about going into politics as it is recession proof.

I had to read this article twice to thwart denial. Actually I read the first paragragh five times. “…a chance for greatness” “…the next FDR” WTF!
I shudder to think that the liberalism that got us into this mess is being counted on to get us out of it.
The government could fuck-up a wet dream on Sunday, Christmas morning.

To paraphrase this article, “the next president should exploit the hell out of this opportunity to expand the government’s role in the economy, build a bigger and better world government, and restore the public’s confidence by giving them aid to help them through the mess the government has made.”

This is what predators do. They wait for right time, then strike when their prey is the most vulnerable. I have never been a big believer in conspiracy theories, but I can’t help but think that there are a lot people in this world who have been waiting for a crisis like this to happen. It’s like a 9/11 with low interest rates and capital requirements crashing into the financial markets. I can’t imagine what the next Patriot Act will look like to protect us from this manufactured evil.

Okay, this guy is an utter joke. The coffers to the U.S. Treasury have been wide open for quite some time now and they have been empty.

I hate to say it, but this is the exact kind of dreamy-eyed, “government can do anything” romanticism we can do without, from either party. Sadly, I think we are headed for a lot more of it. To paraphrase, with Republicans like this, who needs Democrats?

Frankly, we need neither. None of these clowns is getting my vote by promising to be the next FDR. Tackling the monster created by the first FDR and his successors would be vote-worthy, growing it is not.

I realize that the accusations from the left that “socialist” is a racist code word meaning “black” are ridiculous, but when I read crap like this, I can’t help but think that the word “socialist”, when thrown at Obama, means something other than a critique of his economic policies.

Here’s a story we can tell our grandchildren: There was a time when the Republican party was the party of Fiscal Responsibility.

I read the article and kept wondering “So How is this New New Deal going to be financed?” and whaddya know? Nothing about that. We can just print more money and throw it at the problem, that seems to always to work, maybe that’s why Zoellick didn’t mention it, he figures everyone realizes that’s how it’s going to work. Nothing like a plan that encourages high taxes and high inflation to get the economy going again.

How can I head up the World Bank, apparently the only qualification is spouting out nonsense and travelling around the globe and quite frankly, I might be overqualified, but I can spend other people’s money with the best of ‘em.
