"Whaddya mean “bring back slavery,” Boyd? What do you call taxation, especially income taxation? Vice laws? Any laws?*"

I'm glad to see you are passionate about how the USG "enslaves" us all, and there are differences between slavery and "any law*". However, it CAN/WILL get worse and their enslavement (financial as well as personal) CAN/WILL get even more overt.

I see voters are eagerly rejoicing in how they will show Washington they mean business...by flipping the coin and putting the Dems in charge. I present to you...CHANGE!

Although on a smaller level "they" (the good ole boys) stole lots of banks in the early 90's too. I think their thinking was hey, none of us went to jail, we can do whatever we want, lets see if we can steal some bigger banks and trillions instead of billions. Yep, "they" can do whatever they want. If you don't like it try vaseline when they bend you over.

Pathetic as the concept is, JWH's post up at the top cracks me up.
6 years of a Republican house and senate, 8 of a Republican pres,
OUR country at an all time low in basically all areas, and he's trying to imply not to vote Dem or it will get even worse.

For those who haven't noticed we have absolutely lost control of government. It won't matter if you vote for puppet A or puppet B. They will do what they're told.

Hi all, I'm curious of your opinion on this. I know everyone here hates the bail out so don't just say "the bailout sucks government sucks" that's been covered.
I have family that works at Bank A. They applied for some of the money the govt is giving away and were denied. Now this bank has been bought by Bank B who WAS granted funding from the govt. Now I have 2 brothers scared shitless about losing their jobs because Paulson (I believe) decided that their bank wasn't allowed to be saved. I think it's criminal personally but I kind of have a couple of dogs in the fight...

“Vandals late Tuesday and early Wednesday spray-painted graffiti on the homes and garages of Sens. Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar and Reps. Jim Ramstad, John Kline, Keith Ellison and Michele Bachmann."

Time for an oldie but goodie. Originally a 2nd amendment story, but the application is valid for bailout voters as well.

Whaddya mean "bring back slavery," Boyd? What do you call taxation, especially income taxation? Vice laws? Any laws?*

The 13th Amendment didn't eradicate slavery. It nationalized it.

"I read an interesting article the other day that until Congress is afraid to set foot in their home territory (they have to come home some time), they will continue doing what they do to their constituents."

I'm a Republican Precinct Chair and my Congressman is hosting a breakfast for those of us in his District who reside in my county next week. I will be attending and have already organized all of the Ron Paul supporters who are also precinct chairs to attend as well. (we took over about 1/3rd of the precincts chairmanships in my county).

From the St. Louis Post Dispatch Political blog, some members of congress are already feeling the rath from their constituents:

Two cars belonging to the family of U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, were vandalized overnight in front of his home in Compton Heights.

According to neighbors, someone had spray-painted or painted the words “Traitor,” “Bailout for China is treason,” and “Psalm 2.”

Some of the graffiti appears to refer to the $700 billion financial-institution bailout package that Congress approved a few weeks ago. Carnahan had voted for the measure.

The vandal or vandals used white paint on the family’s black car, and black paint on its silver car. One vehicle was in the Carnahans’ driveway, and the other was parked on the street in front of the congressman’s house.

Sources tell us that the U.S. Capitol police is getting involved in the investigation. Earlier this week, six of Minnesota’s members of Congress — both senators and four House members –had been the victims of similar crimes.

According to the AP:

“Vandals late Tuesday and early Wednesday spray-painted graffiti on the homes and garages of Sens. Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar and Reps. Jim Ramstad, John Kline, Keith Ellison and Michele Bachmann.

“At the Coleman residence, ‘U R A criminal resign or else’ was spray-painted on the garage along with the words ‘Scum’ and ‘Psalm 2.’ At Ellison’s home, ’scum’ was scrawled on the garage and ‘traitor,’ ‘resign now’ and ‘Psalm 2? on the house.

“The Bible’s Psalm 2 warns ‘kings of the earth’ against incurring God’s wrath.”
