How did a permanent punishment work its way into our non-perfect legal system?

    Eric:

Capital punishment is the bastard child of wild west justice and lynchings. And it’s an excellent means of population control- like other forms of government power.

Well, I was half-right – I knew he wouldn’t find justice in Georgia. The Supreme Court gets it right, for once! I hope he’s granted a new trial and found innocent, if indeed he didn’t do it.

CNN: “Convicted COP KILLER avoids execution”
MSNBC: “Georgia man gets last minute reprieve”

“I’m mad as hell, and not going to take it any more!” – biased inflammatory media CNN scumbags masquerading as journalists!

[a href="http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/09/24/execution.delayed.reaction.ap/index.html"]This[/a] sort of stuff really scares me.

To be so blinded as to not care if the wrong man dies… I just can’t fathom it.

    (hopes her html works)

I read the stories on the other side of those links. Dead cop’s mom says, “If I saw him on the street, I’d punch him in the face!” and “my son is dead, there’s is still alive – that’s just how I feel!”

Now, murder is wrong and I hate that a former Army Ranger was killed, but It’s looking like Troy Davis didn’t do it. If there is ANY question of his innocence, the execution should be stopped and a new trial date set.

I just hope there is a hell-storm of media focus on the people who are currently advocating murdering Troy Davis! If he’s innocent, I want to see what these rednecks have to say for their behavior then. Oh, right…they’ll ask the LORD for forgiveness, since only he can decide innocence or guilt! Yeah…
