Steelers over the Pack in the superbowl. The Packers lost all of… Brett Favre and the accopanying Peter King Uncomfortable Man Love that that brings, and about nothing else. For a young team with a year to mature, the only question was Rogers, who looks solid but unspectacular. That makes them as good as any other Not Football Conference team.

In the AFC, the Steelers are the best team that’s currently winning the game of ‘Russian roulette’ that is the weakly injury report.

Ad companies will win. Because companies will pay large amounts of money for them to create ‘edgy’ and ‘memorable’ ads. Whatever network will also win.

I was going to say the 49ers but then that would mean that Mike Nolan is a competent coach. As much of a homer as I am, I just can’t do that. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we go 9 – 7 this year. Which, in the pathetically weak NFC West, just may be enough to be win the division. Yeah, right. That’ll happen.

When all is said and done and the season is over, I am hoping to feel a tad vindicated about the money spent on NFL Sunday ticket and Superfan (thanks for charging me an extra 100 bucks just to watch the games in HD, DirecTV!) with a handful of wins for my once-proud NFL dynasty. It’s extremely sad when you have to justify it with a goal of less than mediocrity.

The Cowboys appear to be built to win it all but we’ve seen that you can’t just put all the tremendously talented parts on the same team and make them win a championship (see Redskins, Washington).

I’m thinking the Vikings are the real sexy pick in the NFC with the Steelers or Jaguars in the AFC.

Vikings win it all.

AFC: New England lost Brady and Indianapolis doesn’t look much better, and their running game was atrocious, so it’s time for another team to step up. The Steelers looked pretty good and they have two solid workhorses for the running game now. If they actually maintain an offensive line, the Steelers are pretty good.

NFC: the whole conference sucks, so the Cowboys can probably win it. I’m assuming Romo has matured enough to not throw playoff games again. If not them, then probably New Orleans.

I’ve been saying the Jags for about 3 weeks now. They’re just going to run over everyone else. I even predict that they’ll win the division (yes, above Ten and IND), and I’m still sticking to that prediction.

As for whom they’ll face, I think the Cowboys will actually win their first playoff game since 1996 and will return to the Superbowl, where the 8.5 point favorites will lose to Jacksonville.

The Patriots I thought would lose to Jax in the AFC Championship but now that Brady is out for the season, I don’t see them making the playoffs, even with the easiest schedule in the NFL and playing in the worst division in the NFL. Nope, the JETS win the division this year.

It won’t be the Patriots.
Doubt it will be the Colts, considering Peyton Manning looked so out of sorts and shape. Lost 15 pounds because of the antibiotics he is on for his infection, and has not been able to work out. I think last night’s game will be a wake up call for him. I like him and hope he can get his act together for his sake and of the team.
