Chef... you don't want seals... try manatees instead... seals taste like the fish they eat... now manatees, they eat aquatic vegetation... and have red meat... that's why the sailors who first arrived in the US called them "Sea Cows"... don't you know a voyage across the atlantic eating nothing but fish, salted pork and sea turtle would get a tad old... then you come across this fattened, lazing chunk of red meat... manna from heaven....

and yes, I have been called a volatile store of useless information...

... Yes... an important part of the eskimo's diet... a documentor once went with an eskimo hunter as he snuck up on a polar bear looking into an ice hole, once the stalk was complete, the documentor asked why the Eskimo did not shoot... "You must wait for better luck" was the reply... after a couple of hours the polar bear swatted out a seal and the eskimo shot, taking both seal and polar bear back to the village.

Trust me, the local fishermen don't think seals are so cute. Isn't there some big battle in Oregon or somewhere with the seals camped out for easy pickin's by some expensive fish ladder made to insure salmon or steelhead could spawn in the fresh water streams? The safest place for this seal is on a dock where tourist boats are located... odds are different on a fishing dock... as it should be.
