Reason.TV on Starbucks

I would just add that Starbucks’ newish “Pike Pace Blend” is actually quite good. Not burnt. No jarring aftertaste. Makes you wonder why they didn’t come out with it years ago.

Ah, it’s all a matter of individual taste. Pike Place is dull to me. Give me that nice burnt Starbucks Italian Roast any day. Or for dessert, a venti soy Cinnamon Dolce Latte. But that’s me. Yea for choices.

You invite me to guest blog for two weeks, then you come back and the first thing you do is put up a coffee post? ;)

Its that knee jerk reaction of corporation=pureevil that causes people to retaliate as such. Free markets can do wonders, can’t they…

IMO, one of the better Reason.tv spots. Moynihan is a better host than Carey, who I can’t take seriously. It also managed to avoid a lot of the glib arguments pervading some of the earlier spots. There are lots of good reasons to dislike Starbucks, but it’s helpful to dispel a lot of the myths and paranoia about the company. And they managed to slide the “markets good” message in there by sounding factual instead of preachy.

What happened to Drew Carrey? Not that I mind seeing the gaping maws of the Reasonites.

I imagine Carey is used for the feature pieces, not the individual stories like this one. There are plenty of other stories and interviews that do not feature Carey, but rather other Reason staff especially Nick Gillespie now that he’s in charge of Reason.tv. But when it comes to the big features Carey is generally featured, at least in narration.

Question: What’s the difference between a barista and an ordinary server or waiter / waitress?

What the hell is wrong with you people? Coffee should NOT cost $4.50 a cup and require three people to make it.

If anyone wants me I will be at the local Dennys sipping on a bottomless cup of joe.

I drink a lot of coffee, just as much as before I retired from the Navy. I’ve always thought Starbucks coffee was awful, almost as bad as Bob Evans. Dunkin Donuts has the best coffee around and they don’t charge a fortune for it.

Ugh. Dunkin Donuts has mediocre coffee at best. If you want really good coffee, the only way to go is to find a place that roasts beans every day in-house. Its amazing how much flavor is lost in the first few days after roasting.

Roast your own! Don’t bow to the tyranny of horrible swill served by that malevolent entity called Charbucks!

Don’t like the new cups. Green was soothing.
