Didn’t Heller apply for a pistol (semi-auto, the most common choice of modern sidearm) permit? The news blurb specifies Heller was given the permission of the DC government to exercise his privilege of carrying a revolver (likely only within his own house’s walls).
Along the lines of Heller can a gun in the house really help you in defense of your home?

According to 85 year old Leda Smith — HELL YES it can.
This is why guns in civilians hands are good, no one was killed, no dogs were shot, no doors busted down, and a criminal was stopped cold.
I still can’t get over how good of a job they did on most of the costumes. The Comedian and Rorsarch look perfect.
From the link Chris provided on WB being sued by Fox over Watchmen:
Variety says that Fox “could wind up as a profit participant in the film, and could cost Warners millions considering the film’s box office prospects. However, Fox’s legal team says it isn’t looking for monetary compensation and instead wants to prevent the big-budget film from being released altogether.”
Something smells funny there. This movie has the potential to be one of the greatest and highest grossing sci-fi films ever made. Why wouldn’t they want a cut? Do they have a plan to do it and do it better? It’s been kicked around development hell for 20 some odd years . . . I can’t see what they hope to gain by this bullshit.
