From “claude”:

No worries. With Bush in office… Russia attacking Georgia will just cause GWB to amass troops just outside Atlanta.

Fark had something very similar the other day.

I honestly expected a much more forceful response from GWB on hearing that the Russians had invaded Georgia.

The fact that Georgia kicked things off by using force against South Ossetia seems to be very understated in the reports I’m seeing.

They seem very upset that NATO hasn’t backed them up, conveniently forgetting the part about NATO not being responsible when aggession is initiated by the member state. (even though they aren’t a member yet)

And yet, I’ve seen reports that Russia has been arming South Ossetia and “rabble-rousing” insurgents there for years. I’m not sure what to believe about who started what and why, but I do know his: Russia is looking to become the next OPEC all by itself. It’s working very hard to capture a lot of the arctic oil fields. The BTC oil pipeline that runs from Georgia to Turkey undermines Russian oil dominance in that region, and I’d be very surprised if all of this nonsense with South Ossetia wasn’t just a pretext for gaining control of Georgia.

Damn! He beat me to it!

In other news, according to one of the tabloids, Laura and George are splitsville. Couldn’t happen to a…couple.

How funny. You just never get tired of the “boy is he dumb” comments. Comment of the day coming from a 3rd grader these days in the agitator world?

“conveniently forgetting the part about NATO not being responsible when aggession is initiated by the member state. (even though they aren’t a member yet)”
I guess that all depends on where you mark the time line of when aggression started.

” Comment of the day coming from a 3rd grader these days in the agitator world?”

A sense of humor is a nice thing to have. It sure has helped me in getting thru the Bush administration. ;)

Well crap. The 3rd Amendment was the last one I had left, and here comes the 4th ID to camp out in my living room.
