Prince George’s County: Drug Capital of the World!

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Sorry, but I can’t resist a little derision, here:

[Prince George's County Police Department spokeswoman Sharon] Taylor, a self-described dog lover, expressed sympathy for the loss of Calvo’s dogs, but stopped short of apologizing for the incident.

“We’ve done these similar kinds of operations over and over again, to the tune of removing billions of dollars of drugs from the community and without people or animals being harmed,” she said.

Emphasis mine. In addition to her obvious struggles with math, Officer Taylor isn’t so good with the history, either.

To be fair, if she used actual numbers then the “war on drugs” would hardly seem worth the effort.

I hope these articles aren’t going to take the place of your usual Sunday afternoon dog blogging. Those ones never piss me off.

Come, now, Susan, don’t we all visit Radley to make sure we’re always suitably pissed off?

The drug war, like crime, makes people stupid.

Yes, we do visit Radley to make sure we’re suitably pissed off. And I am. I swear it. Can I see the dogs now? Please?

I have two sites I visit multiple times each day: Balko, and the baseball scoreboard. Both are certain to get me riled up.
