Wall Street Journal op-ed: Bruce Ivins wasn’t the anthrax culprit.
And new claims that the Bush administration pressured investigators to tie the attacks to al-Qaeda. Despite any, you know, evidence.
Oh, and Ron Suskind’s new book says the White House ordered documents forged to help make the case for the war in Iraq. Surely all of these journalists can’t be lying, can they?
Turn your camera’s saturation up to 11, then go shoot some urban decay. Blight turns beautiful.
Tallahassee police how claim Rachel Hoffman was selling $35,000 worth of marijuana per week. So why didn’t they find anywhere near that amount when they raided her apartment?
I’m pretty sure this is why they invented the Internet. So someone could post airline menus going back to the 1960s.
According to a recently filed lawsuit, police in Milwaukee launched a 2006 SWAT raid based on a tip from an estranged, grudge-nursing sister who hadn’t seen her sibling in four years. The other woman’s husband house grabbed his gun to defend his home as the SWAT team entered, and was shot by police in the shoulder.
This is screaming out for a Godzilla joke.

You’ve got to see the Paris Hilton response to John McCain’s Celebrity ad. I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I actually laughed at something she was in and not just at her.
Those are great photos, but it’s not high saturation, it’s called HDR, High Dynamic Range, photography, which usually requires multiple shots of the same scene, layered together via photoshop.
1 - An op-ed is just that - someone’s opinion.
2 - That evidence thing works both ways. “New claims” are just that - claims. Just because someone says it, doesn’t make it so.
3 - Just because someone says it - this time in a book - still doesn’t make it so. Again, there’s that evidence thing you speak of. And the simple answer to your question: “Surely all of these journalists can’t be lying, can they?” is “YES. They do it all the time. And a journalist with an agenda is usually the worst case.
Suskind’s book may be credible. They were disparaging it so heavily on Fox News that one can’t help but think it might be true.
As for Rachel Hoffman selling $35,000 worth of pot a week, I am always amazed at the enthusiasm with which cops accuse people of crimes after they’re dead. At least they didn’t try and pin the anthrax attacks on her.
The right wing isn’t the sole support of the war on drugs. This is a bi-partisan atrocity.
A while ago, I asked if there were any left-wingers opposed to the war on drugs (I knew about libertarians). I was given some names, but they were all comedians. There weren’t any politicians.
Interesting op-ed about Bruce Ivins. A New York Times article (”Pressure Grows for F.B.I.’s Anthrax Evidence”, August 5, 2008) strongly contradicts it (but still doesn’t accept the FBI’s official version).
. Surely all of these journalists can’t be lying, can they?
Does it fit their narrative?
See the coverage of Duke Lacrosse rape hoax,
No, this is why they invented the Internet.
Nancy Lebovitz - Barney Frank (D-MA) recently sponsored, with Ron Paul (R-TX) as a co-sponsor, a marijuana decriminalization bill. Frank even said, “The vast amount of human activity ought to be none of the government’s business. I don’t think it is the government’s business to tell you how to spend your leisure time.”
So yeah, anti drug-war politicians from the major parties are few and far between, but there are a few.
Barney Frank, D_MA- gay, one of the country’s senators that makes sense most of the time. How did this happen?
John Sunnunu, R-NH- a senator who does not vote per party affiliation, one who surveys his constituents before voting, one who is helpful with issues. One who is financially conservative. How did this happen?
Anyone else have a Senator from their state that acutally does his job?
RE: Suskind, they don’t have to be lying, they just have to be incompetent. And if the question is, “Surely all of these journalists can’t be incompetent, can they?” then the answer has to be yes they can!
pris - This is nitpicking, but Frank is a Congressman.
Pris,
Barney Frank is a congressman, not a Senator. The only gay Senator (well, openly not not gay) is Larry Craig.
From the “According to a recently filed lawsuit, police in Milwaukee launched a 2006 SWAT raid” article.
“Police got the tip nine days before they obtained the search warrant, an indication that they did not believe the search was urgent, the suit says.”
This reminds me of the Batman TV series where they used to stand in Commissioner Gordon’s office and talk about the joker’s latest dastardly deed for 10 minutes, then suddenly Batman would look at Robin and say “quick Robin to the batmobile, there is no time to waste”.
Eyewitness and Matt,
Of course you are correct. He should be a senator!
Should be a senator? Why, pray tell?
OK, let’s humor you for a moment. With Teddy’s wonderfully good health, I suppose you’ll get you chance to see if he really should be a senator…….I’m guessing he won’t go anywhere near that seat….. but I may be mistaken.
Hmmm, Rachel Hoffman was selling $35k of pot a week…oh these lying mother fuckers. She was selling within her group of friends and probably not much outside that small circle. Have these douche bags from TPD been watching “Weeds” too much or what? Seriously, if they got my daughter killed over fucking low level pot sales and then tried to fuck with her rep to save their incompetent asses I would be a thorn in the side of that department for the rest of my existence.
Matt. You bastard.
Ahh, my very first rickroll. I’m late to this party, but it’s still very satisfying.
