Why don’t you take that fight down by the river? Fighting a crocodile on land is like fighting a shark on land, it just isn’t fair. I call for a cage match.
In all fairness Helms did support AIDS funding after he found out that it was affecting *straight* people too, instead of just the filthy sodomites. When it was no longer about homosexuality he happily sent money to Africa to help with it; he and Bono even struck up an unlikely friendship over the matter.

Stupid b*tch…why else would I buy dog food??
Hey asshole, sometimes people ask innocuous and obvious questions because they’re looking for an excuse to just to get the conversations started, and not because everyone in the world is an inbred idiot except for you.
I would love it if it turned out the woman was actually attempting to flirt with him.
@Jonathan Hohensee: If she was just trying to start a conversation the proper question would’ve been “What kind of dog(s) do you have?”
Gets the intended result (a conversation started) and doesn’t come across like an inbred moron.
Ah. But that would take some thought.
I used to ride the buses a lot, going to a from busking. I would be carrying a large, heavy guitar case. (For a while, two of them.) People would say, “Do you play guitar?”
Jaysus!
Eventually I started answering, “No. I just carry it around.”
Regarding Elizabeth Dole, she’s anything but a dim bulb…she’s served ably in multiple administrations, she was president of the International Red Cross and her educational background is impeccable:
You can certainly make the argument that she’s been a rather mediocre and self-serving politician by libertarian standards, which I’d agree with (she’s likely naming the bill after Helms because she’s a senator from North Carolina, he’s still popular with the state GOP and she’s up for reelection this year). But there’s no real basis for the claim that she’s stupid or dense, in fact I’ve met her before and found her to be very intelligent and savvy. She hasn’t ever shown herself to be incompetent at any job she’s held, like Dubya, she’s not a demagogue like Helms, and she’s not a clueless attention whore like Pelosi. She’s just not someone who’s going to do much to change things because that’s not really her focus…she’s just a fairly benign party politician.
I thought the dog food story line was funny, if true. But, the woman who didn’t assume he was buying dog food for his own dog is getting sort of a raw deal in the telling.
It’s not exactly rare for people to buy dog food for others, for many of the same reasons you might pick up anything else from the store for a friend, sister, coworker, neighbor, etc. When I was a kid, there was an older woman who lived down the street and she had people (usually one of her kids when they visited, but not always) pick up dog food for her because it was too heavy for her to life the bag of kibble. Nowadays, one might do it just to save someone from an extra trip to the store…
I’ve known that Elizabeth Dole was a piece of work ever since she blackmailed DC gov’t into raising the drinking age to 21 by threatening to withhold federal monies earmarked for transportation. I used to refer to such shenanigans with the phrase “Uncle Sam spank.” Of course, no one knew what I was referring to. Boy, I just love old movies, don’t you?

Hate to break it to you, but that’s not illegal and it’s not a practice restricted to just drinking ages or highway funds. The feds can attach conditions to any funds they provide the states…why do you think libertarians are opposed to the feds running programs?
And I never stuck up for Dole as a politician, just corrected the mistaken impression that she’s dim. She’s not, she’s just self-serving.

Two vids of tiger vs croc. It seems crocs are easy targets if you just come up from behind them. Still interesting and fun to watch, tho.
Think the photo is of French artisans building the statue.

So, its:
Pirates > Ninjas > Leopards > Croccodiles > Cowboys

“…she’s just a fairly benign party politician.”
So you at least admit that she’s an oxymoron?

I feel completely vindicated. The Dicovery Channels’s Animal face-off actually had a crocodile defeating a lion.
If croc can’t even fight off a leopard how the heck could it beat a Lion?
It can’t!
That snake video is scary. Is the videographer dead or what? That snake sure has a good sense of theatrical timing, too.
