“The officers stick together and the system is abusive.”

For every cop who brutalizes suspects, for every cop who perjures herself, for every cop violating our civil rights, there is a handful of others that know and do absolutely nothing about it. I am convinced that the average cop will commit a felony to cover up for a “brother in blue”.

Is the law enforcement system broken beyond repair in the big cities?

#8 Ever try to get EMS in NYC? Domino’s will get there first a lot of times. And as long as she’s not in active distress, walking in fresh air is probably not a bad idea as her priority level at the dispatch center will be somewhere below a splinter in the butt.

This NYPD officer should be out on his ass. Making a false police report is perjury and should be prosecuted as such. NYPD is the biggest street gang in NYC and it’s no wonder that when one of theirs gets hurt or killed the only people who give a shit are other gang members.

Microscope: If you sent in a script for Law and Order or some other drama show it would be rejected as not believable. Oh, the irony.

Lead story: I just love it when government control freaks get it in the ass from their own. Since I’m on the list myself as punishment for 1st Am activities, the more government goons who get the gloved hand up the Hershey Highway the better.

At a group meeting in 2002 I asked the acting director of ONDCP, point blank, about the gift to the Taliban. He flatly denied that it happened. When I directed him to Colin Powell’s speech on the occasion, helpfully archived at the Secretary of State website, he downgraded to “I have no recollection of that.” It was so clear that he was lying that several people, including myself, got up and walked out.

Holy shit, read some of the comments on the “woman falsely arrested for prostitution” story. I already know there are “if you are arrested you must be guilty” people out there, but this story, with the cop so obviously lying*, you’d think would cause even the most ardent police supporter to rethink. But no.

* I was cited in Brooklyn for running a red light. I did in fact run the red light, about 2 seconds after it turned. I challenged the ticket in court just to try and get out of it. The cop testified that the light had been red for 30 seconds before I ran it. It was so obviously bullshit, and his attitude was so brazen, that the judge threw it out. The entire courtroom applauded when he did it. That was a fun moment.

Persecution is the world’s second oldest profession. The fact that laws banning prostitution still exist is irrefutable proof that the people who make the laws are usually no better than those who break them and often much worse.
