Oddly, some of the reasons are that he's not conservative enough, pushing some very liberal causes (open ballots for unionization votes, not to mention his big pork spending). I don't think it's the conservatives who are bestowing awards on him, might be wrong but it would make sense to follow the money on these organizations that love him so. Get the hell over it. I supported Paul before the newsletter flap, and I ended up voting for him after it. I criticized him when the story came out because he participated in a cynical, unprincipled appeal to racists. My criticism didn't have a damned thing to do with where I get my paycheck.
