It wasn’t until the last sentence that I realized this article was talking about a piece of pottery, and not a stash of prehistoric marijuana

Ancient pot found during drug raid

Police in New Mexico made a rare find during a drug raid in last month.

Native American pot, which is estimated to be one-thousand-years-old, was recovered from a recreation vehicle during a drug raid in Albuquerque.

Police turned the pot over to the local museum, which is now working to trace its origins.

In the meantime, conservationists will try to repair the damaged artifact.

I think it’s the missing article in the second paragraph that really makes the sell.

    Well..it was a drug raid Matthew. I would assume since it was a “drug raid” that whatever the folks have in their possesion or own is now the property of the state…regardless if they are guilty or not.

    Here is the question:
    Marijuana was not supposed to have existed in this hemisphere until Indians (from INDIA) brought it with them here in the late 19th century. Where did the natives get the plant?

    lol! Kidding. No it did seem like they were refering to ancient weed.
    If you watch the video, the native american liason says they have to be very careful with the pot because of its spiritual significance. What a sacred pot? Matbe they put their peyote in it…
