Does that mean that she is sick or should we respect her odd choices?

What’s wrong with believing both? I think a lot of people have problems, but that doesn’t mean “we” have to do anything about it. If you support outlawing public sex and she did something with the wall (or her fence), there’s hardly more of a problem than people screwing in public cause.

People have all sorts of philias. This is certainly a new one to me, but hey, I’m not going to judge her.

My guess is that someone said to her: “If you like that Wall so much, why don’t you marry it?” and she took it too seriously.

I am more puzzled by the legal implications, although I’m no maven on German Family law there are a lot of them.

First, how did the wall manage to consent to the marriage in the first place?

Second, is she entitled to some form of payment due her husband’s disability and continued unemployment?

Third, now that her husband is somewhat of a tourist attraction, is she entitled to a portion of revenue from that? What if they divorce?

Fourth, I recall that for a while after German Reunification one could buy fragments of the Berlin Wall. Is she entitled to a portion of the revenue from this, and could she sue to have those fragments returned or at least use her marriage to legally coerce payments from people who bought fragments of her husband?

So many questions.

I think Santorum had a point. Where does society draw the line? This woman clearly has an attraction to walls. Does that mean that she is sick or should we respect her odd choices? What about people who DO love animals? Is that okay too? They didn’t chose to be that way.

Boston Legal had a story line this past season in which Jerry (the atty with Asperger’s) meets a woman (Mary Gross from 1980′s SNL) who is married to a concrete block. They have a brief liaison which is broken up by Gross’ character’s jealous streak after which she takes up with a toaster that Jerry gave her.

The line (or wall, if you will) should be drawn between marriage and the state.
