To be fair, jwh, the article goes on to point out that it’s not like American’s can’t find drugs. In just about any town in America, you’re probably not more than 3 phone calls from just about any drug you’d like. What has occurred is that the drugs they’re buying are less pure (and thus likely more dangerous), because of the pricing pressure.

Hey Radley, can we get a warning before any articles from that certain British paper in your second link? And I must admit to being surprised to see the reaction from the DA in the barber story as well. I know that's the way things SHOULD work, but we hear that so rarely.

Kinda like the junkyard dog taking a greater interest in your neighbor’s cat, and a lesser interest in your’s. Sure, the junkyard dog is still a problem, but now your neighbor has a greater interest in solving the problem.

I’m a barber and in WV ,where I practice it was illegal here at one time.Until 1982 Sunday was forbidden for most business.My beef is the burdens placed on a small business.I need 5 permits to work.Barber,managing barber,state business,city business and occupancy permit.That’s 250.00 a year.Plus B&O taxes based on your gross income.

Funny how these folks don’t realize that there are silly laws like the barber shop one, but the police sure knew about it when writing the citation and being dicks. They know about em. They love em. They love the fees they bring. From the DA on down.

From what I understand, the real reason Drug Dealers have switched to the Euro has more to do with the fact that they have a 500 Euro bill while the US only goes up to $100.

Rappers who have the gimmick of explaining to their listeners how rich they are have switched to the Euro as well.

It’s one thing to throw 20 bills at the camera and to be throwing two grand. Quite another to be throwing 20 bills at the camera and be throwing 5 times that (before the differential!)

A somewhat surprising reaction from the DA in the barber story:

District Attorney Joe Waitz Jr. won’t be prosecuting the case. In fact, he’s asking the parish council to repeal the law as unconstitutional.

“It’s our job to prosecute criminals, not barbers,” he said.

Most of the time it’s something along the lines of ‘it’s the law and we can’t choose which laws to enforce.’
