I’d vote for none of the above even though I’ve lived in 4 of the above in the past. I’m a mile from the nearest neighbor and for me that is far, far to close. Can’t get too far out in the boonies for me. I do miss delivery food though. Damn do I miss NYC delivery. Anything, anytime at your door with just a phone call.

The only southeastern city listed is Miami, and that doesn’t even count. Definitely voting “none” to those listed. I moved to Birmingham for work, and when I leave it will be back to Tennessee — any part other than Memphis, but south of Nashville is “home”, and I’d pick it over any of those listed.

I live in Seattle and it is a great place to live in many ways- great downtown, lots of parks & beaches, 1/2 hour-2 hours drive to just about any outdoors rereation you like, 2 great sports stadiums and great mild weather (if you can stand not seeing the sun for 7 months). However, the goverment sucks from a libertarian standpoint, and is getting worse.

I’d love to live in Boston in the fall and spring, but I can’t handle the weather for summers and winters.

Big as in “core city” or “greater metro”? San Antonio is the 7th largest in terms of “core city” but not on the list. How about San Diego? D.C. is tiny by comparison.

I’m from New York and I love it there, but don’t think I’d want to live there. I live in Boston now and it’s really great. I’m not exactly sure where it rates on the libertarian scale of things but I see very litle evidence of it being worse than most other palces in that sense. It’s just a really fun town though with tons of stuff going on.

Nonetheless I chose Philly because you just can’t mess with the food in that town, although all their sports teams BLOW.

Christ, why would anybody want to live in any of those places? (Denver being a slight exception due to the Broncos!)

And you left off all the cities that would be worthwhile to live in…Charleston SC, Savannah, Austin, Portland, Tampa Bay, Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill…

I try to avoid big cities like the plague, but I’ve been a few of these.
Out of L.A., Denver, Chicago, New York, Houston, Dallas, DC and Miami, I would definitely select Denver. Sumpin to do with it being pretty much a wide-open open city and not being clustered.

Sometimes I think it might be nice to live in my favorite city, but then I realize that, were I to move there, it probably wouldn’t be my favorite city anymore. Being merely a visitor, I can enjoy the things I like and remain carefully ignorant of things I might not like.
