I’ll Need to See Your Permit
Wednesday, May 7th, 2008I don’t know which is worse, that the city of Cleveland requires a “music permit” and a “pool table permit,” or that failing to obtain one is a criminal offense.
I don’t know which is worse, that the city of Cleveland requires a “music permit” and a “pool table permit,” or that failing to obtain one is a criminal offense.
These permits involve paying a fee to the City of Cleveland for the privilege of having a jukebox or pool table in your establishment. It is a tax on the money taken in by these machines. The town I live in has the same thing. You should have seen how pissed off they got when our club removed the coin boxes from our jukebox and pool tables and made them free play. As free play machines they didn’t require the permit.
I knew there was a reason I moved out of Cleveland. I’ll “permit” them…to kiss my a–!
Double trouble in River City! Even Prof. Harold Hill wouldn’t be able to save them.
Running a business with the permits sounds a bit like tax evasion. As much as I dislike paying my taxes, I don’t find it upsetting that refusing to do so is a crime.
