Dartblog Wins
Friday, April 11th, 2008Congratulations to Dartblog, a conservative blog at Dartmouth University that won the America’s Future Foundation’s best college blog competition, for which your humble Agitator was one of the judges.
Longtime Agitator favorite the Oregon Commentator came in second. And Indiana University grad student and CNET blogger Chris Soghoian’s terrific “Surveillance State” came in third.
I’ll also use this opportunity to once again link to the Oregon Commentator’s classic article “Contains Sulfites,” a wine-tasting tour of your local convenience store that, though it’s now ten years old, just might be the funniest thing anyone in college has ever written, ever.

Thanks for the shout-out Radley! When we started the Commentator blog back in 2002 we were mainly looking for a way to maintain interest between issues of the print publication. We never really suspected it’d turn out as well as it has. I can’t claim any credit for the current quality, but I am very proud that the guys and gals at the OC are still producing quality work, both on blog and off, on a consistent basis. Congratulations fellas!

What criteria was used for juding the blogs?
Dartmouth alum here.
Oh man. I have tears in my eyes.
That wine article is fan - frickin’ - tastic!
My fav from the article:
“Boone’s Farm’s “Sun Peak Peach” (750 ml, $2.99, 5%) billed itself as an “Apple Wine Product;” thus it is to wine what Easy Cheese is to cheddar”
Been laughing since.
At Dartmouth (College, by the way), we used to refer to MD 20/20 as “liquid anger”
What about the love for Jesus’ General?
