Barney Frank: Feds Should Decrminalize Marijuana
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008Fast forward to about the 6 minute mark.
If we’re down to choosing between the authoritarian socialism of today’s GOP or the socialism-with-individual liberty of Barney Frank, I’ll take the latter in a heartbeat. We could do worse to have more like him in Congress.
Also, Bill Maher needs to read the newspaper.
More Frank eloquence on the subject of individual freedom here…

WTG Barney. Too bad we can’t have more reasonable pols like this.

Uh, cancel that. Videos now available.
Here’s the text of another Frank speech that was more free-market oriented than anything I’ve heard the mainstream GOP say for quite some time:

Oh, and what’s the over/under on the number of votes Frank gets for his bill, assuming it gets out of committee?
I say 160.
From the Fox article:
‘DEA spokeswoman Sarah Pullen said the timing of the bust and the city’s action was “purely coincidental.” ‘
Why, Ms. Pullen you wouldn’t be pullin our leg now would ya?
Far from being a libertarian, Barney Frank is just another SimCity-playing commie micromanager indistinguishable from the average Berkleyite who doesn’t care how much dope you smoke or how many gay lovers you have so long as nobody anywhere is making a profit or suffers the consequences of their own rock-headed stupidity when there are evil rich taxpayers who can be soaked.
Thank goodness Mike Schneider is here to dispel the misimpression that Barney Frank is a libertarian. Which, of course, nobody here claimed. Ever.
Plus, what’s your problem with smoking dope or having gay lovers? Seems like two perfectly enjoyable activities.
Thankfully, unlike Barney Frank, who wants to socialize housing in response to the subprime mortgage “crisis,” the rest of us still have the Bush administration - which is _actually_ socializing the corporate losses from the subprime mortgage crisis (keep those profits, though!).
