You’re honestly surprised that a racist has trouble spelling words with more than four letters? Hell, I’m shocked when they can count to 21 without taking off their shoes and unzipping their pants.

In one of several one-horse towns here in Northern Kentucky is a middle school. In front of that middle school is a sign (can’t recall the names, so I’ll make ’em up):

Timmy Johnson, 2007 Spelling Bee Winner

    The stupid! It hurts!

Obviously someone took a P, eh?

But the message is valid, live here, speak the spoken language, especially if that happens to be the one who is willing pay you.

If you desire to NOT become an American, then leave. Unless I’ve missed something, we do speak english here.

Before I left for 2 months in Europe, it was repeatedly suggested to me that I at least make an effort to use the local language of whatever country I was in. If nothing else, I was told, it was a sign of respect. You didn’t want to be the “Ugly American”. And, from what I saw, the people there did appreciate it.
Somehow though, it is considered racist to expect that those coming to this country to LIVE, speak English.
When my grandfather came to this country, he spoke 2 languages, but no English. Not only did he learn to speak English, but he taught himself to speak without an accent. Why? Not only did he want to speak the language of America, he wanted to speak it like Americans did.
Then again, that might be why, when he retired, he was the chef in a restaurant, and not the dishwasher.
