His “Disappearing Foie Gras” Trick Is in Trouble, Too

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

On his blog, a professional magician says he may have to discontinue a trick in which he borrows a pack of cigarettes from his audience.

Reason:  The last time he tried the trick, no one had a pack.

I don’t get it? I don’t really see a problem here. I guess you could say something about government meddling over the years has gotten people to stop smoking, and it was never the government’s business.

But, really, there’s no law against carrying cigarettes, or having them with you at a magic show. Just, no one did, so who cares?

All the smokers there probably just didn’t feel comfortable giving up their only pack they had on them.

I think Kennedy called it. I know that there is no way I’d give up MY cigarettes for an act like that — they are just too damned valuable these days. ;D
