I've talked to Dr. Hayne on a few occaisions, and also with others that know him. From what i have gathered he is a workoholic that is why he can do so many autopcies in a year. He doesn't have hobbies except for his work. I feel like the more you see certain things in your work make you better at what you do. I know from experience a seasoned Dr. is a better Dr. thats the one I want treating me.

To hold Dr.George McCormick up as the know all of Forensics is laughable in the first place BECAUSE he NEVER did any autopsies himself! After he died his office has been under investigation because he let people who worked at his office who didnt even have a high school diploma do HIS autopies and he signed off on them all! He never even went to his office until after 3 in the afternoon! The he testified that HE did the autopsies! The guy was probably the Biggest Quack in the history of Forensics. You need to check out what THAT quack did before you hold him up as an expert and if you do you will see that calling HIM an expert is just plain laughable.

How many innocent men were framed by these Mississippi Misfits?

How many years lost rotting in prison, without hope?

The Legal and Judiciary establishment will certainly circle the wagons to protect these two Mississippi Misfits. Why?

Because they are not culpable?

No, because of: Extreme Civil Liability for the State of Mississippi.

I would love to see a forensics tv show episode with Dr. Michael Baden debunking all of these cases. Radley - have you reached out? He's a pretty well known forensic pathologist who might be able to work a bit of magic with some of the shows he's appeared on to get a publicity ball rolling a bit faster - or at least put you in touch with producers of shows who he has been in contact with...

The only reason a prosecutor could have for fighting an exhumation is that he is not confident in the accuracy of the original autopsy and he intends to win at all costs. A prosecutor who plays by these rules is not interested in justice and should become a defense attorney.

"....sending bodies to Mississippi, where they say autopsy results can be obtained more quickly"

Oh, I bet they can – when the barely-qualified pathologists eat their sandwiches while performing the autopsies, and have their "answer" before the question is even asked.

Yeah, speed is really the most important part of justice .....except not at all.

These people shouldn't be able to sleep at night, and nor should the ignorant idiots who let them get away with it. Sadly I have to live in Mississippi for now, but this is the 50567th reason why I'm thrilled it's a short-term thing.

Great story in Slate, by the way. You can bet we won't hear about that in our local media, much.

"Hayne claimed in his autopsy to have found evidence of sexual abuse and bruises he said indicated drowning."

Well of course he found that. Sex abuse being the key word for "he's guilty, hang him already!". Evidence? We don't need no stinkin evidence! He's a child molestor! Sigh. Witch hunts all over again.

I'd like to play the forensic Odintologist. "It is my belief, based on these bite marks, that the Father of the Gods was killed by his mischievous son, Loki."

Sorry, I tried to resist.

So the real question is, who is going to play Radley in the movie when this whole thing shakes out?
