Crossed pond and Jeff you both have it right.

Blind prosecutions allow a real perp to roam free, while the DA's are making themselves real criminals, and by far in most cases, the worst level of criminal.

Oh and when caught, they should lose any retirements they would have had coming to them.

Brit, I think you have your chronology wrong. Nifong went to their school but he failed. He tried to railroad rich well heeled suspects. Oddly when the suspects were poor and powerless it worked. They haven’t been disbarred or locally discredited, and they aren’t household names. Nifong could learn something from them, pick better patsies.

Yep, you are right about that!

maybe its time to pass a law that if an attorney general or states attorney convicts someone that he should of know was innocent he should have to serve any sentence that the wrongfully convicted serves

Very nicely done. Keep their feet to the fire, eventually it has to pay off. The people down there can't keep their heads in the sand forever, can they?

@ Michael Pack:

As I read your post, I couldn't help but think of Waylon Jennings saying: "Them Duke boys got themselves into quite a pickle again. Let's see if Daisy can help 'em out."

I believe justice is being priced beyond the reach of many in this country. The Duke boys won because they could afford to mount a proper defense.Look at drunk driving. If you are charged and think your innocent ,in most cases ,your legal bill starts at 2500-5000 dollars. That's a reach for many.A capital case is out of the reach for the average wage earner.

Radley, good work on all this. You've helped start something. I believe their good-ol'-boy system will eventually come crashing down around them. I only hope it happens sooner rather than later.

In a more just system, all three of these men, especially Allgood, would be sent to the gallows.

All these people must have gone to "Nifong" school of justice. You know, it doesn't matter what the evidence is, what evidence is suppressed, or who goes to prison as long as it's done the "Nifong" way. Why haven't these people been fired and sued for gross negligence and criminal actions?
