Manning Power!

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

What a game.

Can’t wait to see Belicheat’s presser.

MORE: I’m all for going for it on fourth down. But 4th and 13? In a low scoring game? When you’re well within your kicker’s range? And your offense hasn’t been clicking all night?

Did Belichick’s hubris get the best of him? He seems to have lost by three, no?

MORE II: Biggest loser tonight: Tiki Barber.

Your hatred of the Pat’s knows no bounds. You do realize that every team cheats, right? That includes your beloved Colts.

That said, I don’t care for football, so… Go Giants!?

I was pulling for New England. Just wanted to be there was history was made. The pressure on Brady by the defense was awesome. They just kept after him all night.

good game and good commercials, that’s a winner.

    I thought the commercials sucked.

Belecheat leaving before game was over was low. Don’t use the excuse that he did congratulate Couglin. The game wasn’t over. He should know better. Sore loser.

Maybe Brady can spend some time with his illegitimate child he abandoned now.

Is it just me or do the Manning now own two of the less-deserved Super Bowl MVPs? Last year, I thought the award should have gone to Indy’s O-line. This year, it should have gone to NY’s D-line.

But I guess we can’t give award to linemen.

Other teams may or may not cheat…the difference here, is that the Pats WERE caught cheating. They deserve the ridicule and scrutiny they receive. Losing the Super Bowl was pure poetic justice.

Media whores and half-assed football aficionados were willing to overlook their cheating all so they could witness history…I’m glad I was alive to witness the reality.

Going for it on 4th and 13 on the 33 yard line is defensible. Obviously Belicheck didn’t feel the FG was in the kickers range. If they punt, it’s most likely going into the end zone and coming out to the 20 (a net gain of 13 yeards). There is little risk of going for it and much to gain.

Hey agitator, great game for the younger Manning. But also you must admit the Giant’s defense really took care of business. Brady didn’t fuck up….Giant’s D put them in a tough position! Great Super Bowl!!! (Bears fan here…)

I called my shot on this blog…I knew the G-men’s D would prevail…Although I was anticipating a 28-17 Giants win, I am not surprised by this one. Knock Brady down a couple of times and he gets rattled…whoo hoo! Congrats NYG!

Well folks we were treated to a SUPER ball game! First and foremost that is what we all desire, who wins is to most secondary, to a bunch of course it means allot.

This is a game I could not lose at all, I kinda sorta wanted NE to win just so they could lay claim to dynasty of a 19-0 season. But I really was rooting for the giants, as a P.Manning/E.Manning SB winners back to back, yeah baby, carries some intrigue as well.

I feel only for Junior Seau. The man is a monster and deserving of a ring, not sure if he will get one at this point, but then he would not be alone on that particular bench either.

Even though Golden Boy was/is a POS, he must have married a good woman to raise a couple strong minded football players and future real men.

Young Manning has been fun to watch, he has had Peyton on his back for years, and he is of course aware of it. Seems all season it’s been well which Manning is going to play today? (with good reason as well).

Took him a bit longer, but he is younger, and Eli came of his own this year. It was fun to watch, it always is fun to watch these kids grow and go on to excel! He gets better with each and every game he plays.

Anybody remember John Elway’s first game? How about his last?

This one goes down as one most excellent game and the Giants earned their place in history today!

Oh and the half time has gotten WAY better since we got rid of miss silver tips and those that promote such bunk and call it entertainment.

It’s about time they figured out it is NOT 14 yr olds that purchase tickets!

Half time was very nice and enjoyable, probably cost 1/3 of what silver tips did as well.

I think that Eli well earned MVP, but such is difficult as it is the team is what wins, together, so picking an MVP is not always a good thing, but it happens. I agree linemen need more recognition than what they get, they get beat to death in the trenches, have shorter longevity and higher medical bills and don’t get the credit they deserve.

State farm has a commercial dedicated to linemen! I think it’s great!

Let’s see,a taxpayer supported team beats another on a taxpayer funded field. As a small self employed guy I’m not impressed.

It’s a testament to how unlikable this Pats team was that I, as an Eagles fan, am somehow happy to see the Giants win the Super Bowl.

Disagree with TC about halftime….We were all “Runnin’ Down a Dream” because we were asleep. Boring. Would rather have a few HS or college marching bands than the aged blonde wookie that played. Sure, his music is great…on the XM 80s channel. As a 34 yo white male, I have great memories attached to that music…like prom. Hell, they didn’t even do Mary Jane’s Last Dance, which would at least have been funny. Jeez. It was like watching VH-1 Classic channel at 3 am. There are plenty of non-threatening modern singers that could have filled the role. Who will it be next year? Paul Simon? Tom Jones? Zamfir? Just what audience are they trying to target? Not even the NASCAR audience thought it was good…

Oh, and as a white male, I was stunned to see that the crowd that surged forth around Mr. Petty was completely white…TiVo revealed no token folks from any other color. Wow. Says something about NFL’s marketing, eh?

If Gostkowski doesn’t boot that kickoff out-of-bounds after their first score, Coach Bill likely opts for the FG on 4th and 13. With evidence that his kicker’s head isn’t completely in the game, he’s giving up 7 yards of field position for a less than 50% chance of a successful kick. Subsequent play call was idiotic though (would have preferred a <13-yard pass underneath praying for the difference in YAC).

Strahan is an a**. No Patriot would talk his talk-he does not do the Giants Proud. If he is a representative of the kind of football player the Giants have- I feel sorry for them.
