I really like Kung-Fu Monkey. It's John Roger's personal weblog. He's a screen play writer the most recent thing folks would probably recognized that he worked on is transformers the movie (he wrote the original draft/story outline)

I’d urge you to consider that it is possible to be a libertarian on most issues, and a socialist on some issues, such as Social Security and public lands. Too bad Ron Paul doesn’t get this.

Of course it's possible, it's just intellectually inconsistent.

Crooked Timber is worth reading. Even when they're infuriatingly collectivist, they are at least honest about their premises and willing to attend to the nuances in others' arguments, so you can have a clear solid disagreement with them. And often they're very very good, and very funny.

Do you have a blog? +1

Here's Pete Guither's DrugWarRant blog:
http://blogs.salon.com/0002762/

Good list - I read several on your list regularly- although I am uncomfortable with your description lumping all as "lefty blogs". I suppose it is a big tent of libertarians, true blue old school liberal Democrats, anti-authoritarian free thinkers, progressive activists, socialists, peace activists, and academic thinkers. If that's "lefty", then call me Lefty. What's left? Fascist authoritarian haters' blogs? Militarist Zionist propaganda blogs? Who other than a tool reads these?

Here's another that should have made your list - Juan Cole's "Informed Comment": http://www.juancole.com/

If you want to read something not produce by the MSM propaganda machine about Iraq, read this fluent Arabic speaker's translations of reportage from around the world. Juan is a sensible person whose outrage about US foreign policy is palpable.

Radley, I enjoy your blog and read it daily (time and resources permitting). I'd urge you to consider that it is possible to be a libertarian on most issues, and a socialist on some issues, such as Social Security and public lands. Too bad Ron Paul doesn't get this.

I am surprised people still give Marshall the time of day and read Talking Points Memo. He would endless puff up and promise a pending scandal every few months that would never materialized. Also I have been at panels where he was listed as a speaker to which he never showed or offered explaination on his blog. Enough of that over the years he just lost crediability to me.

This blog is so far lefty that it almost becomes libertarian. Kinda.

Anyway, he's good at railing against Washcorp when he gets rollling; this is a good article, for example. He's a lefty, but doesn't feel at all represented by the democrats, which is intellectual honesty I respect.
