Hillary the Neocon

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Via Andrew Sullivan, see David Brooks confirming what I told you months ago. A Hillary Clinton presidency would basically amount to Bush’s third term. It’s why all the war bloggers have adopted such an anti-Obama tone over the last several weeks. Hillary vs. McCain, Hillary vs. Romney, or Hillary vs. Giuliani would give voters no real choice on the direction of U.S. foreign policy, despite that an overwhelming majority of the country disagrees with what we’re doing now.

A truer assessment of Queen Clinton does not exist. Hilary is a neocon, most party faithful Democrats nowadays end up being fairly described among them.

It’s not at all surprising considering the basis of Neoconservative thought having it’s basis in that very syncretism: (Ostensible) left-wingers shifting over to (again ostensibly) right-wing compromise positions and building a middle coalition with state sponsored and heavily regulated business interests.

It would more accurately bear the name neo-fascism by my estimation, and you should arguably be served well by applying it to Lieberman/McCain statist theology.

Mentioned is the fact that “overwhelming majority are against the contiued war in Iraq. But, where is the vote for those who would end it?

The only guys who would stop the war are getting much less than the “overwhelming majority” of the vote! Where are the political supporters and war haters?! I just don’t believe it any more! We are all war mongers! And, we proven it at that the primary polls!

Well, sometimes what the majority believes just isn’t right. Cops aren’t to be believed in all cases, guns don’t cause violence, and fascism isn’t a branch of the Right. And sometimes sensible politicians know that they have to try to do the best thing.

The only way the Mesopotamian meat grinder is going to be brought to a stop is by mass peaceful civil disobedience. This nation spends in excess of 700 billion dollars per anum on defense and defense related expenditures.

Military budget of the United States

For 2007, the budget rose to US$439.3 billion.[1] This does not include many military-related items that are outside of the Defense Department budget, such as nuclear weapons research, maintenance and production (~$9.3 billion, which is in the Department of Energy budget), Veterans Affairs(~$33.2 billion) or the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (which are largely funded through extra-budgetary supplements, ~$170 billion in 2007).[2] Conversely, the military budget does allocate money for dual-use items, such as the development of infrastructure surrounding U.S. military bases. Altogether, military-related expenses totaled approximately $626.1 billion.[3]

These numbers do not include any of the $45 billion plus that is spent on intelligence gathering operations(NRO NSA NGA CIA DIA etc) or the Homeland Security Department’s $43 billion dollars or the “black” and or “no strings attached” operations which are most often funded with the procedes of smuggling/sales of illicit items(drugs/weapons are two favorites very hard to trace) on the worlds black-markets with no congressional oversight(like it really matters) whatsoever and lets not forget the US Justice(or is that the NKVD) Departments $44 billion dollars.

These depatments of defense, justice, homeland security and intelligence are the holly sacred cows of the tax and spend parasites that have infested the very fabric of US government. Almost every POTUS canidate is beholden to one or more of the special interest lobbying groups who shill for our tax dollars.

Until we, the taxpayer, elect a non-compromised canidate as POTUS(US congress too) the status quo will remain unchanged perhaps it will even worsen.

So be afraid of the boogey-man and let the treacherous sycophants in government take your money to give to their friends and benefactors and let them change/ignore the law as they see fit, they’re doing it for you and your childrens safety.

    End screed.

I’m not that big of a fan of Hillary myself, but citing Sullivan and Brooks as sources on the subject presents a tremendous credibility problem. Brooks currently resides in fantasyland and Sullivan’s Hillary problem has progressed well into the pathological stages.
