it's sad to say, but if the landlord did not understand English well that may be the only term he/she would understand.

You’d have to be a certifiable moron to use that word in the course of your work, especially if you’re surrounded by 15 other people you work with.

There's no way of knowing for sure whether or not the officer used the language he's alleged to have used, but your reasoning suggests that it's impossible for police officer to be a "certifiable moron," when there are numerous examples of certifiable morons working at all levels in law enforcement (and probably every other profession, as well).

Escargot anyone?

Yet another well planned and executed drug-raid. Professional? I think not.

Jones' girlfriend, Kimberly Edwards, 30, will face a drug possession charge. Her 5-year-old daughter - who is not Jones' daughter - has been released to a local family member. The two were in a second bedroom when the shooting took place.

These "professionals" couldn't wait out a 350 lbs. man. He's got to eat and the "professionals" probably could have grabbed him at his local fast food drive-thru window no shots fired, no lives placed in jeapordy.

Surveillance, thats for losers. Guns, CS and flash-bangs thats "professional".

I would love to know what the judges who sign off on these warrants are thinking, or are they.

End drug prohibition now!

I dunno--I'm a little less troubled by this raid than others. I mean, it's fine to say they could have taken him coming out of the house, but that opens up the possibility that he'd escape back into the house, take a hostage, notice the police presence before even leaving, be tipped off to it by neighbors/friends, etc. To me, the problematic raids are the ones where the chances of violent resistance are nill, or the cops didn't bother to verify that the dude they're looking for actually, you know, lives at the house they're raiding.

From the Clarion Ledger article:
"Police said they often choose middle-of-the-night raids so they can safely 'catch 'em sleeping'.... When the police entered Jones' house, they clearly identified themselves".
How do you clearly identify yourself to someone who is sleeping in a presumably dark room in the middle-of-the-night? Plus, I wouldn't trust anyone in my room in the middle-of-the-night to actually be who they said they were (except maybe my husband).

As much as I'd hate to admit, I think I'm going to have to call B.S. on the quote from the cop re: the N-word. You'd have to be a certifiable moron to use that word in the course of your work, especially if you're surrounded by 15 other people you work with. I don't think the circumstances are credible.

Here's another link for your monday morning reading: Ron Paul supporters harass county clerk over a mistake that she had immediately corrected:

Robert Johnson needs to man up to what he said.

Also, what's the issue with bringing up Obama's past? He freely admitted to it in his book.

TO be fair, he did say "size of an NFL linebacker" not "shape".

From the Clarion-Ledger article:

"Poo, otherwise known as Robert M. Jones, 35, a man the size of an NFL linebacker, was busted.
[...]
Jones is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs in at 350 pounds."

I'd love to see that reporter name a 5'11", 350 pound NFL linebacker.
