Morning Links

• Fans of Superbad and Arrested Development might want to check out Michael Cera’s new project, a pretty funny online series called Clark and Michael.

• I’d guess most people will look at this photo and have one of two reactions.  Some will be repulsed at the excess, or perhaps slip into the shakes as “choice fatigue” sets in.  Others, like me, will get a case of the warm and fuzzies, and marvel at the beauty and bounty produced by capitalism.

• I love year-end lists.  And though I obviously don’t agree with all of their selections, the Buffalo Beast’s annual list of the year’s most loathesome people is one of the better applications of the theme.

•  Get your kid a snug, infant onesie emblazoned with the Blackwater logo!  Or you could get one of these.

•  NY Times correction:  Perhaps we should have double-checked before taking the word of a prominent socialist activist that Ron Paul is a Nazi.

    That photo’s cool!!!

That list was…interesting. I by no means completely agree with all of it (Hef? And Stephen Moore’s not a bad guy), but it’s definitely balanced: everyone gets bashed.

Stunningly enough, lgf and various other websites of that ilk don’t seem to be as big on reporting the NYT correction re: Ron Paul as they were the original story. I can’t imagine why.

I’m more concerned with why there are empty spaces on the shelves in the photo. Get with it, there’s money to be made!

    ARGH !!!

I deliberately take all my vacations at the end of the year, just so I can avoid looking at grocery shelves that need to be stocked and conditioned during the holidays. So OF COURSE you had to link to that picture. And it couldn’t be any other company but THE VERY ONE I WORK FOR !!!

Thanks a lot Radley. Thanks a whole @#$%ing bunch.

(If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the garage beating my head against the wall trying to get that picture out of my head.)

Looks like a Marsh … am I right? It’s beautiful!

And thanks for the reminder, Radley. I have placed my order and will proudly show off my Li’l Agitator :-D I’ll even send a photo, if you want a model.

As a recently returned Peace Corps volunteer, I touch myself when I see choices like that.

Huh. NYT didn’t post my perfectly innocuous comment, but they posted one purportedly written by Bill White (see #220).

Umm, Radley, is Bill White a socialist activist or is he a Nazi? Wiki suggests the later, if you want to argue that Nazis=socialists, full stop, fine. I’m sure you’d write a much better book about it than Jonah Goldberg, but as a lefty, I think there’s a big frickin’ difference.

In any case, it changes the meaning of the post whether someone with the politics of Dennis Kucinich or the politics of Bill White is making the claim that the Times is correcting.

What about those of us who decide to hunt down and strangle whoever decides to make all that packaging glaring yellow?

    Witless Chum,

What parts of the Manifesto of the Fascist Struggle or the Munich Manifesto do you think put the Italian Fascists or the National Socialists into the right wing camp?
