“Happy Christmas” instead of “Merry Christmas”? How dare you perpetuate the War on Christmas(tm). I’m calling Bill O’Reilly!

Bill O’Riled-up and Sea Harp-edy would be beside themselves with joy if they were in Nashville right now. Interstate Air Conditioning has this big LED sign. It is flashing (I am paraphrasing here) For Politically Correct [some pejorative] It’s Merry Christmas. Not Happy Holidays. Deal with it.

While I am not Christian, I am not the slightest bit offended by “Merry Christmas”. That being said, I will say this. I am doing some remodeling on my house this spring and it includes a new HVAC “pack”. Interstate will NOT be on my list of bidders.

Radley….When are you going to debate O’Reilly? That would be entertaining!

The real question is, “When is ANYONE going to debate O’Reilly?”. It appears to be physically impossible.

Io, Saturnalia to all who visit here

Since this is an open thread, here’s somehing I just saw:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071226/ap_on_re_us/police_academy_slogan

“Each class at the Idaho Police Officer Standards and Training Academy is allowed to choose a slogan that is printed on its graduation programs, and the class of 43 graduates came up with “Don’t suffer from PTSD, go out and cause it.”

ANother fijne example of the new professionalism.

    Hey agitators,

Can any of you recommend a book that written on roughly a 4th grade level that explains markets (either economics in general or financial markets or just how capitalism functions)?

I know a very precocious 8-year-old who like reading science books. (Things like “Physics for little kids”, “How things work”, etc.) I think he might like to read something about economics so he can get an idea of how goods & services get produced. I didn’t see anything on amazon, but I figure you guys might know of something.

    Thanks!
