The tactics used to pass this law are appalling and an affront to any liberty loving individual. I am so tired of religious zealots trying to force their warped 'morality' on the rest of us.

This is yet another reason why politics would be better if the Christian Right would keep their religion private.

Online gambling bans get support from only two major parties:
1) Land-based Casinos (who are too short-sighted to see that the businesses are complementary)

2) The Christian Right, who feel that it is appropriate to legislate their morality on the rest of us.

Please note I do not say the Religious Right, because while there are many religions in the United States, only the Christians are successfully demanding that their religious moralities be codified into law.

Radley-

I just put in an FOIA request for the full agreement. As soon as I have it - assuming they don't stonewall it forever - I'll forward you a copy of it.

Glad you posted on this. I saw this article the other day and thought about sending it to you, but figured you'd already know about it.

I don't gamble, but Go Antigua!

If the US Trade Office & Republicans stay the course, then let's hope Antigua's retaliatory claim in relation to intellectual property will wake up Microsoft and the pharmaceutical behemoths. When these groups wonder why state lotteries are costing them billions of dollars a year, the Republicans and Trade Office will be able to advise!!!

U.S. Trade Office flak Gretchen Hamel apparently told Reuters she “isn’t going to get into” the terms of the settlement.

Um..... when did our employees quit working for us?
