  • Surfer comes up with “theory of everything” that leaves scientists gawking.
  • Four months in jail awaiting trial for an armed bank robbery he didn’t commit. Ah, the “power” of eyewitness testimony. And to think, we’ve executed people for less.
  • A lawsuit in the the Kathryn Johnston case should drop in the next week. More on this later.
  • Be sure to read my reason colleague Brian Doherty’s interview with Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano. “The Judge” spoke at the Reason in D.C. event last month. He delivered heaping portions of bloody-raw libertarian red meat. Sent shivers down my spine. Thank goodness someone with his platform is saying the things he’s saying.
  • Speaking of Drew Carey, he’s also a principle owner of the new Major League Soccer franchise in Seattle. Cool thing is, the team is giving fans the chance to buy in as part owners. Every four years, they’ll then get to vote on whether the team’s GM gets to keep his job. Awesome idea, though I think if they had this idea in Detroit, Lions’ GM Matt Millen would have been waterboarded by now.
  • Okay, while I’m pimping Reason TV, you should really check out some of the other great videos over there. For example, check out this interview with celeb chef Anthony Bourdain, or Nick Gillespie’s interview with MTV’s Kurt Loder. I’ve been saying for a while now that libertarians are great at making cases with data and empirical evidence, but we’re lousy at telling stories. And unfortunately, stories do more to move policy than data. Carey and Reason TV I think are starting to fill that gap. It’s an exciting project.
