Argentina Pics VII: Mendoza
Monday, August 13th, 2007As I’ve mentioned, Mendoza was my favorite city in Argentina, and this set includes many of my favorite photos from the trip. As amazing as some of these scenes are, with the Andes rising up over the vineyards, we didn’t even get to what we were told are the most beautiful parts of the region. Mendoza is cultured and sophisticated like Buenos Aires (I had what I thought was my best meal of my trip there), but with none of the bustle. It’s a laid back, leafy college town. With lots and lots of wine. As you can see, it was autumn while we were there. The winery photos are from the Familia Zuccardi vineyards, where they serve a delicious five-course lunch suited to a sampling of their wares. If you go to Argentina, go to Mendoza. And plan your winery tours ahead of time.
