Good red meat for limited government types: Shattered Dreams: One Hundred Stories of Government Abuse, from the National Center for Public Policy Research. One thing libertarians need to get better at is putting human faces on the perils of big government. We tend to be empiricists, putting more emphasis on data. These sorts of reports do a great job of that.
If you live in Colorado, you might want to check out the Independence Institute’s “Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms” party, billed as the “most politically incorrect event of the year.” And, full disclosure, they sent me a free t-shirt.
My old employer the Cato Institute’s 2006 Annual Report includes a nice writeup on Overkill and my work on the Cory Maye case. Also includes a not terrible picture of me.
