A new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club CD hits on May 1st. Rolling Stone says the band took a hit when it was unfairly lumped in with a bunch of Strokes rip-offs. I think they’re so far and away better than the Strokes, it never occurred to me that people might make the comparison. The Jesus and Mary Chain, maybe. But they’re in a different league than the Strokes.

I bought the new Shins last week, too, but haven’t yet had the time to give it a thorough listen. Chutes Too Narrow might be in my all-time top ten, so I need to set aside an hour and play it through.
