Now that Hillary has made her candidacy official, consider this:

If she gets the Democratic nomination in 2008, you’ll have to go back 32 years for a U.S. presidential election that didn’t have a Bush or a Clinton on one of the two major party tickets.

I don’t find that to be particularly healthy.

Also, I stand by the prediction I made during the 2004 election: Someone with negatives like Hillary’s can only get elected president under a very defined set of circumstances. Basically, the electorate has to be so fed up with the party occupying the White House that they’ll vote for whomever the opposing party puts up. With Bush’s approval ratings setting record lows each week, it looks like we’re well on our way
