Two Corrections in the Culosi Case

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

Two corrections I need to make.

First, I think I’ve reported in the past that Officer Bullock was using a Heckler & Koch MP5 the night of the raid. According to the report, it was a Heckler & Kock USP 45-caliber semiautomatic pistol. Apologies for my mistake.

Second, immediately after the shooting, a spokesman for the Fairfax police department told the Washington Post that all or nearly all of the search warrants in Fairfax County are carried out by the tactical (or SWAT) team. I have repeated that bit of information. According to the report, about 48 percent of search warrants are served this way. That’s still way too many. But it isn’t all.
