My Fox Column…
Tuesday, November 7th, 2006It’s basically an endorsement of a vote against incumbency.
Oddly, though it went up last night, it’s no longer linked from anywhere on the Fox website.
I’m also a little irked by the way it was edited. All of my declarative sentences were changed to advertise the fact that I’m a libertarian. So where I wrote, “A Democrat sweep today would also give us a divided government, which offers two benefits…” it was changed to, “From a libertarian perspective, a Democrat sweep today would also give us a divided government, which offers two benefits…”
And where I wrote, “So maybe it’s time to hand things over to the Democrats, if only by default..” they changed it to, “So maybe it’s time for libertarians to vote to hand things over to the Democrats, if only by default.”
And where I wrote, “That said, perhaps it’s best if the Democrats win Tuesday,” they changed it to, “That said, perhaps it’s in the best interest of libertarianism if the Democrats win Tuesday.”
This is bothersome.
UPDATE: The column does seem to now be linked on the “Views” page, though it’s mistakenly tagged with Steve Milloy’s “Junk Science” graphic.
