Shaq Udpate: Taking In Scalia’s New Police Professionalism

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

A reader sends a 2002 Sports Illustrated story on Shaq’s police experience. Turns out, he’s been on several drug raids. And he seems to be picking up on the culture:

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office says it’s cleared Shaquille O’Neal of any wrongdoing when he rode along with deputies during a Sept. 3 drug raid.

WBRZ-TV reported Tuesday that O’Neal was the subject of a complaint filed by a drug suspect.

The television station was told that O’Neal roughed up a suspect.

O’Neal is a commissioned officer in the Los Angeles area and sometimes accompanies local deputies on raids.

Col. Mike Barnett said O’Neal is welcome to join deputies on future drug raids.
