Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006Dr. William Hurwitz will get a new trial, and he’ll be allowed to present a “good faith” defense against the government’s ridiculous drug distribution charges. The ruling isn’t perfect, and Hurwitz isn’t the ideal poster child for the painkiller issue. But the idea of this man spending 25 years behind bars for the “crime” of getting duped by patients is absurd.
Maybe the good vibe will spread to Dr. Bernard Rottschaefer, who’s appeal to the Supreme Court comes up soon.
