Saginaw, MI:
Kahary said he counted about 20 officers, many clad in SWAT gear, and carrying automatic rifles in the twilight Tuesday as they circled around a townhouse at 721 N. Bates, near Throop.
[...]
Officers found small amounts of drugs, Doyle said. As of this morning, they had made no arrests.
Meanwhile, the Unicoi County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Department SWAT team just received a nice gift from a private security company: An armored vehicle. Unicoi County’s popuation: 17,703. Number of reported murders in Unicoi County since 2000: Zero. My guess: The Sherif’s Department will start finding uses for that sweet new piece of machinery, regardless of whether or not said use actually warrants it.
