During my six-month stint at a dot-com at the tail end of the tech boom (late 2000), my job was basically to “go find cool stuff on the Internet, and write about it.” My employer was aiming to be a kind of Entertainment Weekly or TV Guide for broadband web programing. One delightful short movie I found was called George Lucas in Love, a mash-up of Star Wars and Shakespeare in Love, showing the influences in young George Lucas’ college life that inspired him to write the Star Wars movies. There was a nother great mash-up called Swing Blade, mixing components of Swingers and Sling Blade.

George Lucas in Love is now available for free on Google Video. I’m still looking for a free download of Swing Blade.
